Associated Professionals

Based in The Circle Hospital, Reading Children’s Orthopaedic Unit works closely with a number of associated professionals – anaesthetists, physiotherapists, orthotists – with whom we have long, trustworthy, working relationships.

Kathy Krzeminska

Anaesthetist

Kathy Krzeminska did her medical training at Oxford University and trained in anaesthesia at Westminster and King’s College Hospitals in London. She has been a Consultant Anaesthetist in Reading since 1994, providing anaesthesia for adults and children in a wide range of surgical specialities, with a particular interest in orthopaedic and day case surgery.

Outside work she enjoys photography and art history and follows the fortunes of Woking FC.

Ravi Kumar

Paediatrician

Ravi Kumar is an experienced Consultant Paediatrician. He looks after children from newborns up to the age of 16 with a wide range of General Paediatric problems.

Ravi Kumar has a passion for teaching and training and has completed a postgraduate certificate in medical education. He is involved in the recruitment, teaching, training and assessment of all Paediatric trainees in the Oxford School of Paediatrics. He organises and teaches on the Reading Paediatric Cardiac Murmur course. He teaches on the Paediatric module of the language pathology students at the Reading University. He is an Advanced Paediatric Life Support instructor and also a MRCPCH examiner for the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health. He is currently the Deputy Director of Medical Education for the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and is closely involved in education and training.

Jonathan Stedman BMedSci, BMBS, MSc, MRCP, FRCR

Consultant Radiologist

Dr Jonathan Stedman was appointed as a Consultant Radiologist at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in Reading in 2014.

Jonathan obtained a First Class BMedSci in 2003 from the University of Nottingham before qualifying from The University of Nottingham Medical School in 2006 (BMBS). Foundation Training on the Nottingham rotation followed before obtaining membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2009 (MRCP). Jonathan was awarded the Weston scholarship to undertake a full time MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine which was obtained in 2009 with distinction.

Jonathan then moved to Oxford to undertake Clinical Radiology training and obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2012. Fellowship training in paediatric radiology was completed in Oxford Children’s Hospital and at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. Jonathan has taught on national radiology teaching courses for the FRCR examination for the last 5 years.

Jonathan is married to Francesca, they have a young son and can often be found walking or cycling around Berkshire.

Dr Thomas Mills MB BS (Lond), MRCP, FRCR

Consultant Radiologist

Dr Tom Mills has been a consultant Radiologist at The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust since 2002. General medical training at The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London 1986 -1991. MRCP (UK) in 1994. Radiology training at Barts and The Royal London hospital 1996-2001. Training included two paediatric attachments to Great Ormond Street Hospital. Fellowship of The Royal College of Radiologists in 2000.

Married with two children Tom is an enthusiastic hiker. In the last few years he has completed The Ridgeway, The Cotswold Way and the Wainwright coast to coast path. Started Munro bagging ten years ago and completed 120 of Scotland’s 284 Munros. Also enjoys clay shooting and skiing.

Dr Philip Yoong MB BS (Lond), MRCP, FRCR

Consultant Radiologist

Dr Philip Yoong was appointed as a Consultant Radiologist at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2014. He graduated from University College London Medical School in 2002 and undertook general surgical and radiology training in East Anglia, obtaining MRCS in 2005 and FRCR in 2012.

Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship training was completed at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford.
